Hmmm, well, most of us on here are Canadian and well, the fact is, our winters are pretty cold almost everywhere up here.

I'm not sure if someone will be able to help you on this but we do have a couple of members from California and a couple from Australia. LOL

I am 100% behind you on being annoyed by people who move out to the country and then complain about the smells, lack of shopping, etc. ! It's the same up here. I just bought 55 acres in a rural area but of course, I worry that the town will catch up to us one day and we'll have a Walmart in the field across the street before we know it (well probably not but I still worry).

However, I think all places have their good and bad sides. If you have great weather, chances are, you will have bugs, or drought, or forest fires, etc.

As for jobs, I guess it all depends on what you are looking for but again, if you dislike the -20 in Minnesota, I don't recommend moving up here to Canada so I can't be of much help.

We do have beautiful summers though. Canada has it's disadvantages but also many advantages. Wouldn't have it any other way.

Oh wait, this wasn't supposed to be a "rave Cananda" thread. Sorry kanimalhouse! I hope you find a place you like!
