Both of the colts my mares have had were also born with their testies descended at birth.....#ed_op#br#ed_cl#
They also were turned out with mares(their mothers & then dutch
aunties)till they were almost a year old with no problems!  The
first colt, Marleys horse Trouble wasn't gelded till he was 3 1/2yrs
old & is 16.2hh!  My colt I have now just got gelded at the
end of september(last month) & he is 2yrs & 3 months old &
16.1hh & still bum high & growing like a weed!!  I
wouldn't want to think of how big they would have been if gelded as
weanlings, if that height myth was true.....each breed is very
different in how fast a horse grows & matures....With my horses
they seem to grow in height till they are at least 4yrs old & then
after that they start to really fill out in their body!#ed_op#br#ed_cl#
I also agree that it is best to have them out in a boy band for turnout
rather than private turnout as this is how they learn social skills
& paddock herd order....the older ones do teach the young ones
alot!.   Most colts are quite annoying in the field with
other horses as compared to young fillys when they play.....they just
play & learn very differently.#ed_op#br#ed_cl#
