For any who may be going and used to ride/board there; just a
warning. Construction/demolition? has already been started on
part of the property. I drove past yesterday and there was a
loader dredging up in front of the house.#ed_op#br#ed_cl#
#ed_op#br#ed_cl#
I don't know what they are doing (and it was hard to really see as I
drove past), but don't expect the place to look just like it did "in
the old days".#ed_op#br#ed_cl#

Hey Dazzling, when did you board with Milt?#ed_op#br#ed_cl#
There is no demolition going on the property yet!#ed_op#br#ed_cl#
Milt & his wife are still living there as the closing date is NOT till the 19th of Nov. #ed_op#br#ed_cl#
He still has 3 or 4 of his horses in the back 2 fields & is still using the barn & arena.. #ed_op#br#ed_cl#
I just saw Milt last night aas he came by to visit!#ed_op#br#ed_cl#
Milt ran a riding school at 3 or 4 different stables before ending up on Herald Rd. #ed_op#br#ed_cl#
He has accumulated a truckload of tack & equipment....when I was
there his big basement was filled with a ton of stuff & alot was
never used!! It looked like a HUGE tackshop down there!!
There was everything you could imagine!#ed_op#br#ed_cl#
I think for anyone starting a riding school or getting a farm, &
needs tack or equipment this is a good chance to get everything cheap!#ed_op#br#ed_cl#
Just a few examples......#ed_op#br#ed_cl#
Bridles $25#ed_op#br#ed_cl#
Whips $1#ed_op#br#ed_cl#
Saddles $150#ed_op#br#ed_cl#

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl# #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#there ya go PP72! the road is called Green Lane now (Herald Rd is the "old" name)#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl# #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#once you hit the 404 (north off the 401), you'll be driving north to the very end of the 404 (about 25 minutes at least, again depending on how you/coach drives), and then you exit at Green Lane (you ahve to...the 404 goes no futher). Right turn at the lights at the exit ramp & you're on green Lane....just keep going east for about 10 minutes. Woodbine Ave will be the first lights off the 404, go through them & keep going east, should only take a few minutes......i'm not sure what the official town name is though (if you're going to use mapquest)#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl# #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#edit for typos#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

It was hard to see what was going on (trying to avoid plowing into the cars),#ed_op#br#ed_cl#
but there was some machine between the house and the road digging up the#ed_op#br#ed_cl#
field.

About the demolition thing...I know the well is in the front field there...maybe it's got something to do with that? If anyone wants info on any of the 3 horses left...(last time I heard it was 3)...PM me I've been riding there the past seven years or so, so I know the horses very well. :) He does have some decent stuff left too...definitely check out the sale if you're looking for some cheap older tack...he's got some ancient stuff! But good condition for most stuff...oh and, Green Lane turns into Herald Rd east of Woodbine...if that helps anyone...

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#I stopped in around 9ish. Picked up a winter blanket for $25 and all it need was a good wash to look brand new. Also got a saddle rack for my new garage and a pair of side reins. Only spent $47 #ed_op#IMG src="http://forums.equestrianconnection.com/richedit/smileys//smiley20.gif"#ed_cl# I checked out the saddles but there weren't any good ones, mostly argentina made ones. There was one older passier that looked in okay condition but it was huge! Would have picked it up for $150 but my butt isn't that big lol.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl# #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#I also went up to the house and chatted with Goldie and Milt for about 20min. I haven't been back there in about 9-10 years, they remembered me :) The new house they bought is actually right down the road from my parents so I might see them out and about occationally when I'm visiting. It was sad to see the place so empty, but thats life I guess. Its too bad that the new owners aren't going to keep it a stable.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#
