#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#The fact that no one has come forward may tell you his price is too high.  Have you considered marketing him in the U.S.  They are looking for those types of horses all the time.  #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#I have a contact in NY state.  If you get the Horse Trader magazine....he ran an ad looking for a rider for their small sales barn--He is a Vet.  He comes up all the time looking for horses.  In his ad he also states that they look for horses that can hunt and can do 3'6" courses, hunter pace.  There is a real market down there and there seems to be no shortage of money.  Good Luck!#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#yeah I find for hunter/jumper types there is a huge market down in the states.  I know of quite a few people who have bought horses from Ontario that are from places like Florida and California... it seems they have the money and they will spend it if they think the horse is right and do not mind that they have to ship it back.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#I too would look at marketing your horse down to the USA.  I had a lovely young filly in the 10-15k range.  I was consistently low balled by buyers up here.  It seems that the market is great for horses in the 3-7k range up here and will move faster.  The horses that are priced in 10k+ relm seem to sit for a long while.  The market has been like this for roughly atleast 3-5 yrs I would say.  Anyhow I did market my filly down to the states and found a buyer relatively quickly, whom accepted a price that I wanted and that did not try and 'bargin' left right and center. I don't want to seem to desperate, I am not really desperate, I need him sold as soon as possible. But leasing him out is probably what I will end up doing if I cannot sell him. I already have someone interested in leasing him for the show season but they can't start untill Jan.... I guess that we will just see what will happen. But he will stay for sale while he is being leased if he gets leased. #ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#When selling anything, be it a horse or a car, you have to do some market research.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#I would suggest looking for a similar horse for sale in the areas you are trying to sell him. Looking at the high end prices to the lower end prices and compare what you are asking. The horses that are being sold faster are the ones priced lower given the time of year as this is typically a slow time of year because show season is over and winter is coming. As other have stated you may find a better market in the US but you have to be prepared to produce records of your accomplishments and training levels. #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

Im very sorry, but it is much too high for anyone around here. There just is not a market for hunter horses in canada. #ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#We don't even advertise horses for sale in Canada anymore... any sales in Canada are via word or mouth.  Advertising in the states would be a great idea however for a horse at that price range be sure to have a good sales package together for if you get responces.  Most people will want to see a good quality video of your horse before they travel up here to take a look.  Also if you are looking at a quick sale most high end priced horses take much longer to sell so you will want to be patient in that aspect or loose your shirt selling him cheaper quicker.  Be patient is the most important I am back off to university for the second time and so we desided to sell off some of our breeding stock as I don't have time to spend with the young ones right now... we just sold one to Wisconsin and three to Georgia and had another buyer here today but didn't have a big enough horse for them... be patient that is all I can say it took a year to sell the 4 we did.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#
