PLEASE NOTE THE DATE CHANGE FOR THIS CLINIC.

Sunday, April 10th, 2005. 9am - 4pm.
100.00 includes refreshments, a terrific lunch and educational material.

Kars Riding School in Ottawa is offering a freestyle clinic designed to help the novice rider get started as well as the experienced rider improve on their freestyle. Come and experience the kur from the perspective of a judge, rider and musician.
Learn how to:
* Have much more fun in the dressage ring
* Time your horse's gaits
* Tell whether the music is also the correct timing
* Edit your music in a way that will impress the judges
* Film your pattern
* Find the rules for your level
* Design choreography
* Plan your entrance
and much more.......

Joanna Crilly and Joan Johnston, co-founders of the Lauren DiIanni Memorial Prize for national excellence in freestyle performance, will be the clinicians. Joan is a top freestyle rider in Ottawa and Joanna has designed the choreography and edited the music for Joan's and the Kars Riding School freestyles for the past 10 years. Many local riders have taken part in previous KRS freestyle clinics and are now enjoying competing in the freestyle classes at local shows.

Joan and Joanna have just returned from the FEI Freestyle Forum in Ankum, Germany and will be happy to discuss the findings of the FEI panel with participants in this clinic.

This clinic is open to a maximum of 15 people. There will be demonstration riders used to teach the clocking of gaits and suitability of music. This allows clinic participants to take the most advantage of developing their observation skills. Riders are encouraged to submit video footage of their horse ahead of time so the gaits can be timed in advance of the clinic. They can bring videos of their choreography or past kurs as well for helpful hints.

This is a very interactive clinic and designed so everyone can really enjoy learning the process of putting together their kur.
