#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#My donkey did spend his yearling summer as an alarm clock, but other than that he's not too loud unless something is wrong and then he yells his head off. I think he sounds more like a goose than a duck. Honk, honk. He does hate it when I take someone out of the field, he cuts you off and tries to keep the horse you're leading back with the rest of the herd. A very irritating habit, because he is a bit light in the hind end and not trustworthy. He also is an amazing foalsitter. It's funny, when they are quite young if they stray too far from their mothers, he gently escorts them back, he doesn't like to babysit until they get a bit older, then he plays with them.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#hee hee PA, is that your mule?  He is SO cute!!!#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl# #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Willie came with the name Willie, I like it and didn't but much thought into another name...... So I guess it will remain Willie!#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl# #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#OK, so Ruth you are telling me I will have a goat getting under the horses feet and a donkey trying to stop me from removing a horse....... oh boy, won't THAT be fun! lol#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl# #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Willie has been handled a TON since the day he was born, and prefers people over animals (seriously, he hears me coming and he leaves the herd and comes to me). Hopefully he won't become a complete a$$ (ROTFLMAO, get it??..... sigh.....) to deal with.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Yes PerfectAngel, I have an Ernie the mini donkey and my original plan was to get a Bert as well (as you can tell I have an excellent education/degree from Sesame Street U).  However, my wife said that I would only get the second mini over her dead body and since Mrs. R is still alive I am stuck with only one half of the famous pair.  If you look under the BBQ at Rubberman's thread in the photo section (ie this section) you will see a picture of my Ernie. #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#It might have something to do with the 10 cats (the cat population doubled in one shot when Mom had five kittens four weeks ago), 2 big dogs, seven horses and of course Ernie.  I think my wife views me as too much of an animal collector and she is afraid that things could get out of hand. I am working on her to allow me to have a young horse to bring along and replace my hunt horse in two or three years (of course the hunt horse stays with me and is expected to have a long and healthy semi-retirement).#ed_op#IMG src="http://forums.equestrianconnection.com/richedit/smileys//grin.gif"#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#What's wrong with collecting animals? #ed_op#IMG src="http://forums.equestrianconnection.com/richedit/smileys/Happy/4.gif"#ed_cl# We started out in the spring with 3 cats and a dog, we now have those plus 6 goats, 2 geese, 8 ducks, 22(or 23) chickens . . . not to mention the two horses boarded out!   I think your wife is just being unreasonable! #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

Family resemblance to WHOOOO???? #ed_op#IMG src="http://forums.equestrianconnection.com/richedit/smileys/Teasing/19.gif"#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl# #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#OK, phew, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one with a large collection of animals!  Two dogs, 4 horses, one pygmy goat, one donkey and 3 cats (ok, 7 if you count the 4 cats that came with the barn).  Not to mention the pigeons. Started with two, then there were 6, and I'm SURE I now hear more babies up there..... sigh..#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#
