My 2010 next victims !

Postby Leena » Wed Jan 06, 2010 8:30 pm

Yeah..my new victims or new cancer battle partners..I don't know yet !

This fall I started 2 very nice and handsome fillies; Orla and Shannon.

Orla is Dutch Warmblood (Oxford) by our TB mare Alsace Lorraine. She is by far the easiest and affectionnate filly I ever start (well except Leena the mare)

Image

Shannon is trakehner (Krusader) out of our Canadian horse mare Surprise..a very forward thinking filly, with gorgeous movement..

Image

Both are 3.5 yrs old and my 2010 project along with Lancer !

But this year I have help; a nice and gentle young woman whom I teach how to bring green broke horses along. It is a day by day project since I don't know when I'll return to chemos.

Kaleena..you have such a memory !

Thanks for the girls...On both pictures they have about 10 rides..I am actually training Orla in an indoor, giving her milleage with new environment and she is doing great dealing with new noises, people, traffic.

I'll be posting update on her and then in march I'll bring Shannon. Lancer had a very good 2009 year, lots of training so he is back with the herd for a good rest..He is still growing..over 17 hands right now so this time in pasture is good to allow him to grow peacefully.

On december 31st, I brought Orla to an indoor facilities. I cannot believe how fast and well she adapt ! We had our first coaching this week. She is a doll to work with.
This morning I took her in trails for the first time and it was fantastic ! At 3.5 years old and already bombproof !

  Kaleena

It is so rare you start a young horse, you haul him, you train in a total different place, turn him out along while he was in a herd and do trails...NOTHING ever happen except pleasure, fun...
I even was able to put her clean in her stall in 4 days..Now she poops all at the same place..

That is all about Orla ! just 3.5 years old and already bombproof.

I can't wait to see how she goes in dressage but someone told me once she would be one of those fancey hunter that shine at the Royal.

I have to admit she is more hunter type, very elegant filly but she is doing really well in dressage. I start cantering; he canter is a dream..I might have some pictures this week.

Enjoy !

Nice pics! She does look like a very nice hunter *wink wink* *nudge nudge*. Of course her dressage training will only make her a better horse all around anyways.
*God forbid I go to any heaven where there are no horses*
