Going nuts in class!!!!

I am in class right now, Biology to be more specific and I am going nuts! I am sure that there are some college and university students who can emphasize with me. You pay you big $$$ to go to class only to get a professor who speaks english poorly, does not really teach other than write notes on an overhead with grammar and spelling mistakes! I am not discriminating here, but I find it really frustrating.
Today though, I got smart and brought my laptop and earphones. I suppose, that if he really is never going to teach, and we are just to copy notes, then I am not really missing anything!
It's worse when they post their lecture notes online, and read OFF those notes in class.

Why do I go?!

I totally can. There was a Ukranian geography prof who could not speak English and was totally unable to explain the formulas we needed to learn. Arghh!

It pissed me off so much. Especially when I went to get tutored, and she was the only one who was tutoring and she couldn't communicate!!! Arghh.

My bf's aunt says that if you really listen it will be fine and it's no big deal. But I'm sorry, if I can't understand them how can I learn???

Too bad you couldn't just stay home and read your text books and then pass the exams and never ever have to go to class!!!

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Definitely know how you feel! I've had my fair share of professors with 'thick' accents where it is very obvious that english is not their first or even their second lanuage in some cases. All very brillant and nice people I'm sure, just impossible to learn from.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl# #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Then of course are the professors that speak English perfectly well but their attitudes and teaching methods SUCK! Some of them have no idea how to teach and are only doing it because its required by the University to keep their own reasearch projects going....grrrr.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

#ed_op#font size="2"#ed_cl#Very true Kaleena,#ed_op#br#ed_cl#
I don't know if it's the same everywhere, but here one of the Profs was
telling us he got a bad review, because he was focussing on students
too much and not enough on his research projects. He was told it should
be at least 60% research/40% teaching. Boo!!! He's my favourite prof,
too, and it's because he actually CARES about the students! #ed_op#/font#ed_cl##ed_op#br#ed_cl#
