Well, according to the weather network, we are supposed to have fog patches tomorrow morning. So...if it's foggy, the sun can't get through and the groundhog won't see his shadow. I say that spring's just around the corner. Of course, this forecast is for the GTA and I don't know where the groundhog is. I CAN HOPE THOUGH!
For the last two days we have had 20 or more robins flocking around.

Another sign of spring....the flocks of robins that were using the yard as a holding ground...are now gone...a few straglers here and there but most of them have gone north I suspect, so be on the lookout for the....lol

BT, sorry did not mean to tease was aiming for reassurance that there was hope for an early spring...lol
I watched the Pa. groundhog thing on early show CBS...the poor groundhog was sooo frightened with all the crowd screaming and clapping and whistleing...cheee...give him a break he has been sleeping for 4 months or more...
I bet Wiarton Willie had a less stressful groundhog day....Way to go Willie....lol

HAPPY CLOUDY GROUNDHOG DAY!!!!!

At least in Ottawa! Based on the groundhogs' published prediction rate, I think it means that we get 6 weeks if he sees his shadow and 42 days if he doesn't

Yup - if he sees his shadow, then he gets scared and is back into the "ground" for 6 more weeks. But if it's cloudy, he doesn't get scared, and stays above ground for spring.
Wiarton Willie did not see his shadow, so he predicted spring....
BUT, PA. Phil and Shewinigan (sp?) Sam both saw their shawdows, so they are saying 6 more weeks of winter.......
That is ok - winter can stay in PA and NS, and spring can come straight to Ontario!

Well, I don't know about groundhogs but Tuffy is saying 6 more weeks of winter. Mind you, if it's this mild I don't care!

Officially yes, but it's nice if Mother Nature is ahead of schedule!

Well, Feb 2 is exactly mid-way between Dec 21 (when winter officially starts) and March 21 when it officially ends. Whether it starts or quits on schedule is up to Mother Nature. And this year, for once, we did get an early start.

Willie saw no shadow so spring is around the corner. All the other ones say their shadow. Come on warmer weather.
