#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Ok Ladies, and Gentlemen (sorry Rubberman)#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl# #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#I'm going bit shopping at the Royal.  I need a new regular snaffle and a french link.    Wondering if there are any trends in the Dressage world.  I know every year the Hunter gang change what is 'in'.  One year it's full cheek one year it's D.  Can anyone fill me in if such 'trends' exist in Dressage or do we just go with what works?#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl# #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl# #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#In Dressage bits stay pretty much the same.  That's why we go for the clothes instead.LOL#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl# #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Looks like you want to a loose ring Sprenger KK snaffle.  That's a double jointed snaffle.  But be ready to pay a good price for it, around the $150 mark.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl# #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl# #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Thanks Chisolm.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl# #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#We actually had Emma in a KK and she's since out grown it.  We go through this about ever 4-6 months.  We've done the slow twist, french link, dr. Bristol, kk, and now in a comfort snaffle.  The french link I'd go back to for hacking abut the regular non-jointed snaffle would be for the show ring and training.  I think she's ready to go back in one.  We tend to hit these plateaus.  #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl# #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Thanks and I agree on the clothes.  Now if we could just inject some colour into the dressage world we'd be all set.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#There arnt any bit trends in dressage lol.. There are lots of rules though! for basic dressage you can only use snaffle bits and french links... d-ring, loose ring, eggbutt ect... And then there are double bridles which you can only use after 3rd I think. You cannot use a Dr.Bristol or anything with copper on it for dressage#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl# #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#I know when I showed dressage with my pony which was like 5 years ago they had a trend to wear different colored scrunchies for you bun though lol. #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl# #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#I would never want there to be colors in dressage. It will ruin the feeling. Dressage is supposed to look proper and classical. Not spontaneous and weird looking. #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl# #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#
When something goes wrong in a show, it's actually the best time because you learn from it. You ask yourself 'what can I do better?' When everything goes OK, you don't ask yourself that question --- ANKY

#ed_op#/P#ed_cl##ed_op#P#ed_cl#I thought you could use copper but only if the bit it all copper and not a mix (you can get those bits with roller balls and they alternate copper, metal, copper, etc).  I showed my mare once in a copper snaffle (about 6 years ago) and never had a problem (then promptly switched when I found out that it helped to bring her into season for some reason!).  So yeah....have they changed the rules??  #ed_op#/P#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#
