<font color="magenta">My feet have been hurting lately. First it was only my left, on the inside along the top. Now it's both...and my ankles a bit. <br /> <br />I haven't changed footwear...although I did wear a pair of farely flat shoes on Saturday while I was out shopping. I have really high arches. <br /> <br />Any suggestions? Should I go to the doctor? <br /> <br />I feel silly going because of something like this...but when I walk to class I find I have to walk putting pressure on the outside of my left foot so it doesn't hurt so much. <br /> <br />

hmmm could be from walking in the flat shoes were they thin soles...you could have stepped on something to bruise the bottom of feet or pull something, then you compensate the pain by walking in an unnatural way, thus making more pain in other parts of foot...I am just thinking out loud here...if you test your foot with pressure from your hands here and there do you feel a bruised area?&nbsp; <IMG src="smileys/smiley5.gif" border="0">

Ask your doctor or chiropractor about orthotic footwear.&nbsp; I have Patella Femoral Syndrome in my right knee and started wearing custom-made orthotics a few years ago and it makes such&nbsp;a HUGE difference for me!&nbsp; When I don't wear them,&nbsp;my knee aches, but when I wear them, no pain at all.&nbsp;&nbsp; If you have really high arches, you may need orthotics.

I would suggest some therapy work on your feet, legs and probably hips and back. Try this before you go to orthotics. It may be that your hips are a bit out of alignment or your back is tight as this can end up referring into the feet. It is amazing how problems elsewhere in the body can end up producing pain in the feet. You mention that you have high arches, I have the same thing and my feet are very sensitive to changes in footwear. I have had great success with rebalancing my body .

I would say it sounds like the shoes, since you have high arches.
I would say that for the next few days, wear a pair of comfy well fitting shoes that you know support your feet and see if it goes away. Then you'll know it was&nbsp;your shoes. However, if it keeps hurting, then definitely go to the doctor. You could simply need orthotics.

GD, whatever you do, don't ignore your feet in hopes it will go away. It won't, it'll get much MUCH worse. <br /> <br />See your doctor or chiropractor. Get a referral to a podiatrist of chiropodist, or a foot clinic. You probably need orthotics, which must be custom made. And toss out any shoes that cost less than $50.00 on sale. Cheap shoes are killers. <br /> <br />Remember the old folk song: "Two dollar shoes hurt my feet, lord,..... $10.00 shoes suit me fine...." and adjust for a hundred years of inflation<img border="0" src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0"> <edited><editID>Judy F</editID><editDate>38395.5049652778</editDate></edited>

<font color="magenta">I've come to the conclusion I need orthotics....the pain starts at my feet, seems to go up my ankles, to my knees and my hips too. Not good when you want to ride. <br /> <br />Then today a friend told me the same thing happened to her, and orthotics was the answer. <br /> <br />I also think I'll wear my sneakers around the house, they have good arch support.

If you're getting pain in your knees and hips then it sounds like something is out of place and putting everything else out of place. I would go to the doctor about getting orthotics.

I was too GU.and my orthotic helped its all because your feet/ankles arent in the right place causing stress to everywhere else in your body, knees, hip, back neck even causeing head aches. So I say go for the orthotics and that should fix the problem<IMG src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0">
