Special restricting diet starting soon

Postby Terry3025 » Fri Aug 26, 2005 8:09 pm

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Well went to the anti-aging clinic today to sort out the rest of my bloodwork. I have to start my 4 week 'cleansing' program. So basically since I'm sensitive to eggs, cheese, cow's milk, pinto beans, garlic, brewers yeast, bakers yeast, soybean, peanuts, and wheat. I'll really have to learn how to survive on fruits and vegetables. Then after the 4 week period, which he said I will lose 10-15 pounds (yah!!), I can start re-inroducing the above foods back into my diet slowly to find which one is causing me the grief. He also said that I will probably get the Celiac problems when I get older because I am extremely sensitive to gluten. This should be an really fun time, eh? #ed_op#IMG src="http://forums.equestrianconnection.com/richedit/smileys/Sad/8.gif"#ed_cl# And to top this all off, I'll be probably in the biggest change of my life during this diet when I head to Franklands Farm. Learning to cook on my own and not include any of the ingredients above. #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl# #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Grrrrrrr...fun stuff :(#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#I know cutting out those foods sounds really bad now. However, I will say that "alternative" products (ie gluten free, dairy free, wheat free, etc) have come a long way. Just be glad you are going through this about 30 years ago - there was nothing to eat then! More and more companies are doing specialty things and you can find pretty much anything out there now from ready made gf/wf/df pizzas to gf cookies. However, the only down fall is be prepared to pay more. Its worth it though for your health. Here are a couple of websites to help - these are some of my favourites!#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#A href="http://www.amyskitchen.com/"#ed_cl#http://www.amyskitchen.com/#ed_op#/A#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#A href="http://www.nutrisoya.com/flash.php?lang=EN"#ed_cl#http://www.nutrisoya.com/flash.php?lang=EN#ed_op#/A#ed_cl# #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#A href="http://www.elpeto.com/"#ed_cl#http://www.elpeto.com/#ed_op#/A#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#A href="http://www.imaginefoods.com/"#ed_cl#http://www.imaginefoods.com/#ed_op#/A#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl# #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Hope this helps make the transition a little easier! Good luck!#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl# #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Amy's does probably some of the best pizzas I have ever had! They are all hand made with organic ingredients and totally worth the money imo. I have tried the gf cookies and they are pretty good as well. They are going to taste a bit different, but if you can't have gluten, they are the next best thing. El Peto does wonderful pies and muffins as well. Mmmmmm! :)#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl# #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Sometimes. Some of the grocery stores now have smaller natural dept within the big stores and you can definitly find stuff there (they are usually Loblaws, Zehrs, Sobeys, A&P, or Independent). You might be able to find some things in regular grocery stores, but not everything. Also, check out a local health food store (one that sells food and not just vitamins) and they can get you whatever you want. #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#HTH :)#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#P#ed_cl# #ed_op#/P#ed_cl##ed_op#P#ed_cl# #ed_op#/P#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#
