#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#The only western circuit I know of in the Ottawa area is the Eastern Ontario Quarter Horse Association - they have a number of shows each summer, but you have to have a registered QH...... As far as other shows go, I know there are about 6 shows at the Elizabethtown Fairgrounds, starting in May I think....... - keep an eye on #ed_op#A href="http://www.equistation.com"#ed_cl#www.equistation.com#ed_op#/A#ed_cl# - they have show listings on there. Also, why not call The Horse People? I know they are into english, but I'm sure they'd have a good idea of where to look for western shows.....#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Like Lix suggested, try your local fairs...they always have western classes, and you don't need any points or breed registration to enter....just show up and pay your money!#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#For speed events, you can wear and english style helmet and not get penalized for it...I know on the AQHA circuit, only juniors (under 16?) are allowed to wear helmets - you actually get penalized for wearing one as an adult....#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#
