#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Fixing hanging front legs depends on the source of the problem- If it's a conformation problem then that's an permanent issue, but if it's just a green horse not knowing what to do, then it's definitely fixable. It could also be due to some lack of muscle.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl# #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#A friend of mine used to have a horse who had a bit of trouble with snapping up his front legs- it was because he was stiff in the shoulders (naturally) so it was never completely fixed, but it was improved with the right work.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl# #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#You can try jumping big X's becuase the inclined pole on either side helps to ask the horse to pick their legs up (opposed to a flat vertical where it doesn't matter). #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#
*God forbid I go to any heaven where there are no horses*

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Gymnastics, Gymnastics, Gymnastics.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl# #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#You should spend 90% of your jumping time over the winter doing nothing but gymnastics. Teaches your horse to not only pick up their feet and front legs but also teaches them how to round over fences properly and use their entire body.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#
It's not the size of the horse that matters. It is the size of their heart.
