Well, we went to look at a place just around the corner from us on Saturday, and moved the horses on Sunday! It's a very lowkey place, horses come in twice a day for feed, then back outside, just what I wanted. Three run-in sheds, awesome hay and miles of trails!
We put the boys in a separate paddock to start and the BO let the other horses out a few at a time to "chat" over the fence. I had told her that Teddy is very laid-back and gets on with everybody. Well! You should have heard him roaring and squealing, striking at the gate - ears forward the whole time though!
I stopped in on my way home on Monday and Tuesday nights - the boys looked very pleased with themselves and I'm told that they quite approve of the hay. This is going to mean a lot more opportunity for us to ride now - and we can go through the fields to the stable where my bf takes lessons, and use their facilities (cross-country jumps - woo hoo!). Maybe come spring (longer days) I will look into taking some lessons and tuning Teddy up for the eventing season. Oh yeah, board is very reasonable - under $250.
Think I'll go for a ride tonight - in the dark!
