My God he loves it!

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#It's been a while since I have seen this look.  But by GOD it's there in this guy!#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Got a new (to me) TB cross in.  Was told "he can get a bit quick to his jumps".  Figured, "okay, someone has rushed his training, so he rushes his jumps.  No problem, we can fix that with some basics"  #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Had the munchkin get on him last night for some cross rails (I wanted to see what was going on where).  The minute he saw the jump, his eye pinned on it (they were still flatting to warm up) and when he thought he *might* be getting to a path for the jumps, he started to glow and vibrate.  This was NOT a fear vibration.  He was swerving INTO the jump, not away.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#This horse LOVES to lift his feet over obstacles!  Been a very long time since I've seen a horse that loves jumping this much!  When they finally did get to play, the look on his face was just priceless!  Talk about Christmas/candy/PD day all rolled into one!  #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#I purposely asked munchkin to completely drop the reins three strides out - I wanted to see what he was going to do.  Other than perk his ears even further and pick a long take off... nada.  And he doesn't rush his jumps... he has a tremendously long stride so anything SEEMS like he's "on the move" but in counting tempo, nah, he's just not pittypatting in place.  If asked, I'm sure he could rumble!  #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#I just can't get over the enjoyment this guy has... It is SO nice to see!  #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Sorry, just needed to get that out.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl# #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Of course I didn't have the camera ready when jumping (figures! #ed_op#IMG src="http://forums.equestrianconnection.com/richedit/smileys/Teasing/5.gif"#ed_cl#) but here are some that the munchkin finally assembled for me:#ed_op#BR#ed_cl##ed_op#A href="http://community.webshots.com/user/sss98"#ed_cl#http://community.webshots.com/user/sss98#ed_op#/A#ed_cl##ed_op#BR#ed_cl#I'll see about getting some pics of him over fences eventually. Just gotta "twist" the munchkin's arm #ed_op#IMG src="http://forums.equestrianconnection.com/richedit/smileys/Teasing/4.gif"#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl# #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Shelley, don't you just love finding horses like that? That's what my girl is like. Sounds to me like you've found yourself a keeper.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#
It's not the size of the horse that matters. It is the size of their heart.

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#yaaay.... that is what Xena is like as well and this old TB mare that I used to ride. Its so much fun having a horse that enjoys jumping so much. #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#
When something goes wrong in a show, it's actually the best time because you learn from it. You ask yourself 'what can I do better?' When everything goes OK, you don't ask yourself that question --- ANKY

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Shelley  i got a big smile reading that! isn't it the most amazing thing to have a horse like that? That is How Rubel(my trak) is when i let him play on the xc, stadium he perks up tons for also.. but it is the kid in a candy shop look when he knows we are gonna play over xc. He gets the same look when he realises we are going to get to play with lengthen and shorten strides, and loves to practice flying changes!!! Mouse just gets the happy look as son as he sees the saddle...#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl# #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl# #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Once again thanks so much for sharing the excitment and joy of this horse!!#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#
Being a mom is a wonderful job... being mom to a horse crazy lil boy means combining two things i adore!!!

Shelley...I also got a BIG SMILE reading your post#ed_op#br#ed_cl#
...my leopard mare Patty is just like that....SHE LOVES TO JUMP!
Even if I start setting up jumps in the arena for her to free jump
over, she will start jumping them by herself before I finish setting
them up!  I actually throw other horses out with her to learn to
free jump as she will get them to jump with her!#ed_op#br#ed_cl#
Her problem is riders who get tense & scared at the big forward
stride & hang on to her mouth...which pisses her off so then she
pulls against the tight reins....with a good confident light handed
rider she is amazing!#ed_op#br#ed_cl#
Her kids also have a natural love for jumping but not as much as mom!!#ed_op#br#ed_cl#
Those horses are 1 in a million!!#ed_op#br#ed_cl#

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Another "loves to jump" here!  #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl# #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Snickers is good on the flat, very obedient and obliging.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl# #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Turn him towards a a jump and he positively starts to glow!#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl# #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Gives the expression "jumping for joy" a whole new meaning... #ed_op#IMG src="http://forums.equestrianconnection.com/richedit/smileys//smiley20.gif"#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#that is so cool! 'my' pony loves to jump to. It's kinda funny because i do hunters with her but she prefers the jumpers so even if I cut a corner or something she like lets go!!!lol but she knows when I'm not comfortable or ready because she slows down and then will halt before the jump! I'm thankful for that cause she haas saved my but numerous of times!#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#my mare loves to jump too, but only with me on her...shes not too much a fan of free jumping or i could just be terrible at it...but the ears perk, the stride lengthens and the pace quickens when a jump is put infront of her. #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#As da mudder, I *can* say things like that!  Parental priveledge!  And I know how long it took before the $hiteating grin faded too!  So don't try that with me young lady!  remember - I hold the keys (reins) to your happiness.  And it's about time you showed me the respect I figure I deserve!  #ed_op#IMG src="http://forums.equestrianconnection.com/richedit/smileys//smiley2.gif"#ed_cl#  #ed_op#IMG style="WIDTH: 38px; HEIGHT: 15px" height=15 src="http://forums.equestrianconnection.com/richedit/smileys/Love/8.gif" width=21#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#FONT face=Tahoma#ed_cl#Well although we didn't really get any pictures I "made up" a few jumps for Caleb but only got a shot of us heading towards our warmup (puny litte thing for him really) jump. #ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Aww! Your guy is SO cute! You're right - there is some resemblance....And I do mean a bit more than just the chestnut with some white resemblance! #ed_op#IMG src="http://forums.equestrianconnection.com/richedit/smileys//smiley2.gif"#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#I think your guy's face is different and he has 4 white's while Calbser only has 3. Close though! I think your guy might be a bit smaller than Caleb or your just taller than me which is much more probable! #ed_op#IMG src="http://forums.equestrianconnection.com/richedit/smileys//smiley17.gif"#ed_cl# Caleb is starting to take my leg up even more so I don't look anywhere near as tall on him anymore....#ed_op#IMG onmouseover="this.style.backgroundColor='#C6D3EF';this.style.border='1px solid #3169C6'; " style="BORDER-RIGHT: #3169c6 1px solid; BORDER-TOP: #3169c6 1px solid; BORDER-LEFT: #3169c6 1px solid; CURSOR: pointer; BORDER-BOTTOM: #3169c6 1px solid; BACKGROUND-COLOR: #c6d3ef" onclick="InsertImage('/richedit/smileys/cry.gif');" onmouseout="this.style.backgroundColor=''; this.style.border=''" src="http://forums.equestrianconnection.com/richedit/smileys/cry.gif" align=absMiddle#ed_cl# As I'm sure my mom has said she's fairly short herself and I haven't improved too much on her size either. I told her we should keep him as he makes me look much taller - Almost had her taken in when I said she looked a lot taller too! #ed_op#IMG src="http://forums.equestrianconnection.com/richedit/smileys//smiley20.gif"#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#~OPM#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

Thats exactly what my tb gelding is like!!! he will run up to a jump
when we are warming up and be like... please mom?? lol The one time we
were jumping a line 3 stride and 2'9" ish.  I somehow lost my
reigns over the first jump and I didn't bother getting them back
again... he just perks his ears and keeps going.  The only thing
is, after a jump or a line of jumps(totally steady going up to it and
in between a line) he takes off.  He just sooo excited, lol... I
get a kick out of it.  Though the first few times i went over big
jumps and he bolted after, i fell off, so we have worked on the bolting
issue and he has gotten alot better, but he would not refuse a jump for
anything!!  I love him!

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#hehe...my pony is like that too...I jumped her 3' for the first time ever (her first time) with only a bareback pad and a halter/lead!! It was fun, once she's pointed at the jump, she just goes!!!!#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl# #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#BTW, he looks a million times better in the riding pics than in the "just got him" pics....nice job!!#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#My guy is enjoying his debut in jumping as well. After a really successful line or jump he gives a victory buck and gallop and you'd swear he was proud of himself. #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#
