Blue Hors Matine Euthanized

Heard some sad news today, Blue Hors Matine, the young grey mare who excited the dressage world at the WEG was euthanized after being injured in her paddock. What a terrible loss for the dressage world, like so many others I was delighted watching her dance across the screen and her performance got me excited about the sport.

It is sad. She was a nice mare to watch and seemed to really have heart to give it all she did.

Very sad to hear that! I recall watching her WEG video many many times.

How sad, the poor mare. Just when she was ready to foal....

They are saying now that she wasn't in foal, but due to be bred this spring. They had wanted to give her some time away from all the vets that had been poking at her since she injured herself on the trailer so were just letting her play in the field and be a horse for a while before breeding her. Such a shame, she was very special.

Thanks Jax! I guess the earlier reports said she was in foal. I swear I read that yesterday!!

I had read she was in foal too Fusspot...but then read that she wasn't today. Either way very sad. I too watched the WEG videos many times.
